Registering for DuitNow allows you to receive money using your mobile number, MyKad number (as well as MyPR, passport, army and police ID numbers), or business registration number (collectively known as DuitNow IDs). You no longer have to share your bank account details to receive money.
You can view all your registrations at any one of your bank even though the registration are done with different banks. All banks offering DuitNow have collaborated to provide a consolidated registration view for your convenience.
All the available DuitNow IDs are listed in DuitNow Maintenance Page which is commonly found is “Settings” at Internet or Mobile Banking. There is a status on each DuitNow ID registration specifying the bank account linked to it.
Log on to the Internet or Mobile Banking Channel of any bank of your choice. You can switch the registration from other banks at DuitNow Maintenance Page of the Internet or Mobile Banking of your preferred bank. You need not go back to the bank where you originally did the registration.
The option to deregister is also available at DuitNow Maintenance Page of your Internet or Mobile Banking. Once deregistered, you are no longer able to receive money sent to your DuitNow IDs. You have to deregister at the bank where you performed the registration.
When you deregister, your DuitNow-registered mobile number, MyKad number, or business registration number would no longer be linked to your bank account. When you deregister, it takes effect immediately.
Deactivation allows you to temporarily disable receiving money sent to your DuitNow-registered mobile number, MyKad number or business registration number. You can re-activate at any time via the bank where you originally performed the de-activation.
Registration of new mobile number will be subjected to banks’ Know Your Customer (KYC) process where your bank will validate that you have ownership or possession of the mobile number.
As such, in order to register a new mobile number for DuitNow, banks generally would require the mobile number to be registered as a One-time Password (OTP)/Transaction Authorisation Code (TAC) mobile number
